About Geelong Archers

National and State Indoor Championships

15.1.22

Geelong Archers had great success at the recent National and State Indoor Championships.

Nine of our members competed, achieving impressive results.

Summary of the results:

Archer Gray (Intermediate Male Recurve) 3rd National 2nd State

Imogen Grzemski (20 & Under Female Recurve) 1st National & State

Jakob Wray (20 & Under Male Compound) 2nd National and State

1st place Youth Compound Team

(Jakob also shot a perfect 300 round on Saturday)

William Kambovski (20 & Under Male Compound) 3rd State and 7th National.

1st place Youth Compound State Team

Tom Ashton (Open Male Compound) 3rd State and 6th National (in a very large field of 59 entrants in a hugely competitive division)

David Biglione (Open Male Recurve) 6th National and 5th State (Again a very large field of 50 entrants, competing against Olympians, National Team members etc.)

Malcolm Barker (Master Male Recurve) 1st National and State

Fiona Barclay (Veteran Female Recurve) 2nd National and State

Nardo De Amicis (Veteran Male Barebow Recurve) 1st State and 2nd National

1st place Open Barebow team

Events are held at several venues around the country and Victorian events also count as the State Indoor Championships

 

 

Facilities at our club

Target Range

Geelong Archers have two target ranges.  

Jarvis Oval, Deakin University, Waurn Ponds Campus

Saturdays 11am-4pm 

Wednesdays 10am to Noon 


Abe Wood Reserve, Edgerton road, Lovely Banks

Sunday morning 9.30am to Noon

 

Field course

Geelong archers has a Field Archery range located at our Jarvis Oval range. The field course is a full 24 target course and is regarded as one of the best in Victoria. 

Archery Instructors

Geelong Archers has trained and official archery instructors who will help you in the beginners courses, as well as assist in improving your archery.

Club Competition

The monthly club championship is a great way to improve your archery skills and get ready for competing in a tournament setting. Scores go towards deciding the club champion at the end of the year
